Field Research

Looking Below the Surface

Field investigations reveal drainage deficiencies, construction issues, and root zone conditions that laboratory testing alone cannot uncover.

Field Investigation Matters

Surface conditions don't always tell the full story. Our field investigations expose what's happening below-so we can design solutions that restore balance and long-term performance.

Science Based

Combining laboratory precision with real world observation.

Problem Solving

Revealing underlying conditions so the right solution can be applied.

Better Results

Targeted solutions that improve and extend turf stability and life.

The Finished Product

FedEx Field following drainage remediation and restoration efforts with Dennis Brolin.

From Investigation to Restoration

Finding the answer often requires digging deeper to uncover the conditions below the surface that are affecting performance above it.

Two right angles & solid pipe before leaving the green do not work – entire area is under stress.

Chemistry Issues

Weak turf is often equated to the inability to move water. In reality, hidden chemical deposits can completely block water movement while the drainage system appears dry.

Drainage Systems

Ensuring pipe is in the middle of the trench surrounded by gravel & adding cleanouts to the laterals.

Drainage Contamination

Working alongside Dennis Brolin to rehabilitate FedEx Field, contaminated drainage pipe prevented proper water movement, leading to standing water in three areas and extremely soft footing in a fourth.
